McKenzie Blair — Blár Studio

Hand-dyed silk draped corset with hand-embroidered textures — custom bridal, USA, by Blár Studio
Hand-dyed silk draped corset with hand-embroidered textures, 2019

I work from my home studio, creating hand-stitched garments shaped slowly and with intention.

My background is in textiles, with training under designers in New York and Los Angeles. Past work has included stage looks for Pia Mia’s tour and a custom piece for Miss Georgia USA 2025.

Blár Studio is an independent custom bridal practice working with clients across the United States — hand-making custom wedding gowns and custom women’s wear in a slow, considered process. The entire process is remote, so the work is accessible to clients wherever they are. Becoming a mother in 2025 made the work more intentional — quieter, more considered, more personal.

I love period film, historical dress, and textile detail — hand-dyed fabrics, embroidery, and beadwork in real materials like freshwater pearls, seashells, and glass.

A closer look

I’m drawn to the Tudor era right now — its drama, structure, and intricate detail. Each piece is made original to the person wearing it.

Now booking 2026.

How We Make

Blár Studio is an independent custom bridal practice serving clients across the United States. Every piece is designed by McKenzie Blair. Garments are sewn in small batches — some in our own atelier, some in partnership with skilled artisans in India whose hand-finishing, embroidery, and textile work we’ve sought out for their craft.

Every run is small. Every piece is made by hand. Nothing is mass-produced.

The process is fully remote. Measurements are taken by your local tailor, the gown is custom-made in the atelier, and shipped to you with any final adjustments handled by your local tailor.
